Cymbalta
Cymbalta (duloxetine) is intended for the treatment of the most unpleasant symptoms of certain health conditions, such as depression, GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy. People younger than 24 will need to have their condition monitored by their doctor to make sure they do not become suicidal and do not develop some other serous symptoms sometimes reported in this age group. Report any medical conditions that can affect your treatment to the doctor from whom you are getting a prescription. The conditions that should be specifically mentioned include a history of a heart attack, high blood pressure, seizures, coronary artery disease, heart, liver, or kidney disease, and diabetes. You may mention any other health conditions that you think may be of importance. Do not stop taking Cymbalta suddenly as it can lead to serious and unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, such as vomiting, burning, pain, difficulty falling asleep, diarrhea, dizziness, numbness, irritability, sweating, headache, nausea, anxiety, and nightmares. Taking any of the following medicines may prevent you from safely taking Cymbalta, so make sure you discuss them with your doctor before starting the treatment: quinolone antibiotics, medications for irregular heartbeat, tranquilizers, diuretics, sedatives, sleeping pills, medications for migraine headaches, high blood pressure, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, mental illness, lithium, anticoagulants, antidepressants, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, proton pump inhibitors, medications for anxiety and nausea, or cimetidine.
